New Mission!

Hey Hey Guys!  It's Alyssa!
So the last time you guys checked we were advocating for 2 wonderful boys Duncan & Samuel who are our age.  Well guess what?!  They have forever families coming to get them!  So now that they have wonderful families, we figured we would choose another child to advocate for!

So we would like you guys to meet the cutie who was listed this morning.  We all fell head over heals in love with her.  Her name is Temperance, & we will be advocating for her & possibly fundraising for her!

Adorable right?  She has achondroplasia (Dwarfism), & that is her only "Special Need".   They say she is calm, smiley, has a good appetite & has no issues sleeping.  Sounds like a super laid back baby if you ask me! She turns 1 in July.  If you started the adoption process now you might have her home before her 2nd birthday! :D

So now that I have you falling in love with Temperance, I invite you guys to follow this journey & consider donating to Temperance's adoption fund!  I imagine that she will end up on the My Family Found Me page any day now!  But until then join us Temperance's Big Brothers & Sisters, lets love on this girl as much as we can!

God Bless,
Alyssa

Can't Ignore It ft. Duncan & Samuel

Hello everyone, I'm Kaitlyn, one of the many members of our Facebook/Blog teen orphan advocating blog!  A few of us have decided to help spread the word of two  incredible young men, Duncan & Samuel.  YOU MUST READ this post to see the information about them.  Really take some time to learn a little about them!  Some things are more than heartbreaking.  Since most of us our these teenage boys age, we're on a goal, to get them adopted BEFORE they reach the age 16 of this year & are NO LONGER able to be adopted!   It's a horrible and scary thought to think of where they will be if someone doesn't stand up to the challenge & help speak for the silent!  WE NEED HELP!  Share us, blog about us, PRAY with us about these two boys who's lives literally depend on people like you & who can tell the world about them!

What you are about to read is a short little blog post from my personal orphan advocating blog, Saving a Little Life with The Love of Jesus Christ.  Like I said, it's a must read for the information of the boys, so please, go read it! :)

Everyone knows it's easy to take a look at something, & see something you didn't want to see, you wish in your heart that there was something more you could do, but instead turn away, ignore it, act like you never seen a thing.   It's not always "easy" but, let's be honest, it's easier than making that change that you wish to see, isn't it?  I personally think so.

Freeze...think about if everyone turned away..if everyone ignored seeing what they didn't want to see...what if no one changed..anything?   Just imagine that horrible thought.  Think about the world we would live in!  It would be pure madness, not to mention sadness.  (I didn't mean for that to rhyme, honestly.)  More people would be starving, which would cause so many more deaths.  Not that those things don't already happen in today's world.

Now..think about this..what if everyone..or maybe even just HALF..of the people DIDN'T turn away!  They didn't ignore it, but try to make a change!   I mean really try.  Hard.   Now, I don't know about you but that puts a big grin on my face! :)   Think of all the lives that would be saved, think of how happy our Father, God would be!  Saving HIS children!

I want to show you two young men that have really stood out to me.  And the very least I could do is mention them in a blog post.  Everyone I'd like you to meet, Duncan & Samuel!  God put them on my heart to post about them & that's exactly what I'll do!   These young men are almost SIXTEEN years old!  And never, not even a couple of times heard the words "I love you" from anyone who truly truly meant it.  From the bottom of their hearts.  Now add up how many times someones said "I love you" to you?  Too many times to count, isn't it?  Well for me it is.  Just by family alone I could never count and add up every time they've wrapped their loving arms around me & spoke those three true treasuring words to me.   And I'll be completely honest, I take it for granted a lot.  I shouldn't, no one should.

Read Samuel's RR (Reece's Rainbow) profile information.

Samuel will be 16 in May 2012 – so he needs a family, FAST!

From a family who met him in Feb 2012:

Sam is an AMAZING young man! He is friendly, good-natured, has a good sense of humor, and loves soccer (futbol). He is very good at soccer, and has gone to a camp for great players in Poland a few summers ago. Sam very much wants a family in America- he approached a family adopting there and asked many questions about it, and has talked to the orphanage staff before about how much he wants a family- for parents to love him, encourage him, and support him.

Sam's disability is very minor- he has malformed fingers on both hands that appear to be due to banding of some sort. Otherwise, he is healthy. Because of this disability, he was sent to a special needs orphanage. He is very smart, has already started learning English in school at the orphanage and is well-liked by his friends. Sam's faith in God is very important to him and he would like a family who also worships God, who will encourage his gifts in soccer, and who will tell him "I love you" and listen to him as he talks.

Sam has goals for the future, and would like to play soccer and go to college, but he knows his life in his home country will not give him those chances. He is very intelligent, very respectful and has a great perspective about adoption, because he has a friend already adopted into the US. The family that met him in February 2012 will be happy to answer questions about him as well. Sam eagerly posed for the pictures, and begged the family and facilitator to please not forget him and to find him a family fast!"

And here is, Duncan's RR profile information;
Duncan will be 16 in summer 2012 – so he needs a family, FAST!

From a family who met him in Feb 2012:

Duncan very much wants a family. He is smart and works hard. He gets along well with others. Duncan struggles with facing the future here in his native country. He knows that unless a miracle happens and he gets adopted (or a family commits and gets USCIS approval) in the next few months, he is going to be sent to a mental institution, even though mentally, he has no issues. Duncan appears to have CP, and he is small for his age (about the size of a 13 year old). Duncan's medical information is en route from the orphanage now, but the family who met him and who he approached to ask for a family and the facilitator want to go ahead and get his information and picture out there.

Duncan uses a walker to walk and is independent in mobility. Duncan is a compassionate teen and one who says he "fears even to hope for a family, because he doesn't think anyone would want him because he isn't handsome". In fact, when it was time to pose for this picture, Duncan worried that someone would see it and then not want him. Duncan needs a family to show him God looks on the heart to see beauty (even though he's a quite handsome boy regardless)- and so do Christian families.   Duncan's heart is big, and he is well-loved in this orphanage. Many worry for him if he doesn't get adopted before he turns 16 and it is too late.

Please, if you are interested, contact RR right away. The family who met him is also very willing to talk to anyone who wants more information."

They are so desperate for someone to love them!  Please, SHARE THIS!!  Let their names & awareness spread like a wildfire!  Pray SO hard for them!  And if you feel like God is calling you to take the challenge, step up & adopt these gentle men before it's too late!

As much as you & I want to ignore this, DON'T!  Please, please don't ignore this.  Two lives, & many many more depend on the people like us who are able to help SAVE them!  Just don't let this go by you with out trying to help somehow.

Thank you SO much for reading!  Means a lot to me. :)

A Post by Genesis

Hi, I'm Genesis, a member or "sister" of Big Brothers & Sisters Saving Little Lives With Christ. I am 12 years old and have 2 brothers with Down syndrome, adopted through Reece's Rainow :) Recently, I felt God calling me to write this blog post. Well, here goes!

In 2009, my parents introduced me to international adoption. They were considering bringing a child or two home from Ethiopia. At the time, I was only nine and had no idea how bad it was in places like Africa, and how much kids just like me have to suffer everyday. I immediately got into it and began watching adoption videos on youtube, reading up on blogs and adoptive families, etc. In just a few weeks, my entire family was aware of the conditions over there and our thoughts on adoption. It took almost a year of praying and researching, until we found RR and decided to 'put Ethiopia adoption on hold'. With that being said, I still haven't let Africa leave my heart. I saw what I saw and I can't look back. And that is why I want to share what it really means to me, how serious and devastating it truley is.

When we hear the word "shower", we think of a bath tub or walk-in shower with soap and clean towels.
When they think of a dirty river and buckets.

When we hear the word "home" we think of a 1-5 bedroom house made of bricks and pannels with a/c and heating.

When they think of a tiny shack made of sticks and mud.
When we hear the word "dinner" we think of a box of pizza, a gourmet meal or a McDonald's cheeseburger.

When they think of rice and beans.
When we hear the words "let's go." we think of a vehicle with leather/soft seats and an engine.

When they think of themselves walking long miles on the dusty, rocky steets.

When we hear the word "shop" we think of a air conditioned/heated building with wraped or packaged items.

When they think of an outdoor market with materials (also known as clothing) and produce and knit-naks.

So I think you've got what I'm trying to give. Information and truth about third-world countries like Africa, and how different it is for them. And how good we have it here, in America. We take so much for granted, when we're the most privileged. Along with that, we have the freedom to worship God. WE are given the freedom to read the Bible, pray to Jesus, go to church, and bow be fore the Lord. That right there, we take for granted! Most people don't like long car rides or driving. I'm the same way, I'm not a big fan of being cooped up in the car for hours on end. But do you know what people in Africa (who walk or use animals to travel) would give to ride in a working vehicle? Or live in a family? SO many kids these days are arguing, dis-respecting, hating they're parents. And mainly for the dumbest reasons! Like if your mom or dad doesn't allow you to go to some party or do something with your friends. God put your guardians, whomever they may be, in your life for a reason.... and a good one at that. So next time you want to complain, or think your life is a battleship, just remember how much harder it could be in another country, and that God is always with you <3.

God bless,
Genesis :)
